Spam proves a trap for veteran players.

Mar 04, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)

A new program, Spamtrap, will intercept junk e-mail on the Internet. Sean Howard, who founded OzEmail, has set up a new company called MessageCare. Many of the investors and programmers from the first company are involved in the new venture. The program was developed because other software to block spam is not foolproof. Spamtrap tags each spam message with a unique identifier. By recognising the tag, the spam can then be intercepted. At present, customers' e-mail is diverted through MessageCare's servers. At this stage, 83.76 per cent of spam is intercepted.
