FED:Draft Australian diet guidelines
Main points in new Draft Australian Dietary Guidelines:
- Eat a wide variety of nutritious foods from five groups every day. (vegetables, fruit,
grain, lean meat/poultry/fish/eggs, milk/yoghurt/cheese)
- Limit intake of foods and drinks containing saturated and trans-fats, added salt,
added sugars and alcohol.
- To achieve and maintain a healthy weight you should be physically active and choose
amounts of nutritious food and drinks to meet your energy needs.
- Encourage and support breastfeeding.
- Care for your food.
- Prepare and store it safely.
